Since there was a threat of bad weather later this afternoon, I left for Omaha to visit Loren sooner than I usually do. During the drive, only half a dozen or so raindrops hit the windshield, but as I drove home NOAA weather radio was reporting first severe thunderstorms, then hail, and then funnel clouds. The line of thunderstorms was southwest of Columbus and moving northeast. Tornadoes touched down near Clarkson, Nebraska, destroying barns and outbuildings. I could see the thunderheads that made up the supercell, but was too far away to actually see the tornado. I was glad to get home before the rain began in earnest.
There was so much smoke coming out from under this truck, I thought it was on fire. But then I realized it intensified when he shifted, and deduced it was his exhaust.
