Photos from the pretty campground, Mountain Views at River's Edge, where we are staying 2.5 miles south of Creede, and then pictures from the picturesque little town, population 296, elevation 8,799.
The stock trailer has been pressed into service as a toy hauler. The Polaris RZR, our bicycles, and Larry's tool boxes and an air compressor are in there, and the kayak is strapped on the other side.

Cabins for rent
Gaillardia
There are rental cabins at this resort, too, along with large rooms, complete with kitchens, for family gatherings.
At the fishing pond, which is stocked with brown and rainbow trout. Each fish, regardless of size or type, costs $4.50, and catch-and-release is not allowed.
Potentilla
This is one of the leased sites. A huge motor home is on the other side of the screened kitchen/living area.
The Rio Grande

There's Larry, admiring that giant RZR.
What's inside some of those big screened-in tented kitchens.
There's even a Pet Wash Station!
Heading into Creede
A big old barn, right in town.
Ah-ha!
One of the cute cabins for rent. This one is call 'The Club House'. The one whose roof you can see to the left is called 'The Caddyshack'. Both are offered by Club at the Cliffs.
We have just learned there's going to be a quilt show Friday (that's tomorrow), Saturday, and Sunday. How are all the quilts going to fit in that little shack??!
Actually, the quilt show is going to be held in Creede's Community Center, in a large area blasted right out of the rock wall. More information here.
Manual Hay Baler from Roy Powell's Ranch
This little park in the center of town, tucked between two buildings, was always full of songbirds singing like anything.
All those cute little boutiques with their rare merchandise lining the streets, and we go to ... True Value Hardware Store. We needed gaskets, clamps, and fittings for the camper.
The Hardware Store used to be the old bank. They've kept the tellers' cages intact, and many of the items used in the bank are on display.
We also went to the Kentucky Belle Market for eggs and milk -- and then we walked by the fruit stands, and all the fruit looked scrumptious. We got a carton of red raspberries, and a bottle of Kefir Madagascar Vanilla smoothie to pour on them. Mmmm, mmm.

Mule fawn and doe snacking on laurel berries
Heading back into our campground to get ready for a RZR ride over Bachelor's Loop.
