White-Lined Sphinx Caterpillar

This tiny white-lined Sphinx caterpillar, about 3/8" long, was on Tabby's tail when he came in tonight.  I thought it was a little piece of green yarn, plucked it off -- and discovered it was a wee caterpillar.  When I took pictures, any time the lens got close, the little caterpillar would rear up and try to appear as big and threatening as possible.

I used a 90mm Tamron macro lens on a Canon t5i for these shots.
