Photos: To Harlan, Iowa

Today we took the 1936 Sunbonnet Sue quilt and the Americana Eagle quilt to a quilt appraiser in Harlan, Iowa.  I'd expected to make the 125-mile trip by myself, but I'd no sooner climbed into the Jeep, started it, and reached for the gear shift, than Larry came wheeling into the other driveway in his pickup.  Because it was raining, and the rain was forecast to continue all day, he'd decided to take the day off to come with me.  So I happily exited the driver's seat, walked around to the passenger's seat, and got in.

As you can see, the weatherman was correct:  it rained all day, all across both Nebraska and Iowa.  But it was nevertheless an enjoyable day, and the colors of the autumn leaves shone through the rain (to say nothing of all those red trucks).
