This National Guard helicopter has been rescuing stranded people, bringing them here in Pawnee Park where there are ambulances waiting to warm them and give them dry clothes if need be, and possibly take them to shelters or motels.
From this vantage point, we can just barely see the Loup River, rushing along with giant chunks of ice.
