West side of house. Two types of hostas, tiger lilies, daylilies, double roses, coneflowers, chrysanthemums, tall phlox, Autumn Joy sedum... and a troublemaking Boston Ivy.
North side of house. Larry put this big log here the first year we moved in, when we discovered that the seller of the property, who know the land very well, had sold us that particular piece that was the main watershed for the entire hill. So this became the dam that saved our home from flooding every time it rained. It still gets wet inside the garage. I planted hostas on top, and, last week, peonies and daylilies on this side of it.
North side of house. I need to add another row of bricks to the flowerbed edge.

What is this? I thought it was rhubarb when I spotted it earlier, and it is indeed right where I once planted rhubarb; but the stalks are not red! I think it's burdock, playing a prank on me.
I broke a stalk off, and it really doesn't smell like rhubarb.
Tiger always has to come too, when I go outside.

ReplyDeleteDOES THIS LOOK LIKE your plant up close.
I found burdock sp. here to be fuzzier than rhubarb.
Yep, pretty close. I think I won't be eating it, though! 😜😝😂
DeleteBeautiful yard with nice trees! Reminds me of Northern Kansas.
