Photos: Driving to Des Moines, Iowa

Today I drove first to Omaha to take my brother Loren some Skechers shoes.  They fit him, and he said they were comfortable, so I was glad for that.  I continued on to Johnston, a suburb of Des Moines, where I had reserved a room at the pretty Stoney Creek Hotel, in anticipation of going to the AQS Quilt Show the next day at the Iowa Events Center.

The driver of that front truck, the Prime with the lime green cab, drove 40-45 mph all the way from Rogers to Fremont, about 22 miles -- in 60 and 70-mph zones.  There was no way to pass him on the two-lane, heavily-traveled road, and the traffic was stacked up behind him for miles.

Somebody hang him by his toenails!

There was a boy in the back of this RV playing the guitar and waving at people who passed them.
