Today we went to the nursing home where my brother is recovering from a pressure wound. He was doing well, and will probably be returned to Prairie Meadows soon, as he is really too mobile for their facility, which only has alarms at the patients' doorways, rather than locked entrance doors; and he has several times thought it was time for him to depart.
After leaving Omaha, we went west past Grand Island to see the Sandhill cranes. We also saw buffalo grazing in a pasture near the river, and a large herd of cows with their very young frolicking, rollicking, romping calves. The rancher and his son came along in their truck to feed the cattle some hay while we were watching.
