Female English sparrow

Uh-oh.  The downy woodpecker has spotted the sparrow atop his suet feeder.

He marches right up there to tell her a thing or two.

He gives her a good jab...

He whacks her atop the head with a foot...

She flies off, he lands on the deck railing.

He lifts off again...

Lands on the rebar...

Climbs...

AAaaaaa!!!  There she is again!  He attacks!!!

He peers imperiously down...  "Take that, you interloper!"

He gets back to business at the suet.  His suet.

Meanwhile, the house finch watches air traffic.

"So...  does my beak look seedy to you?"

The poor little female English sparrow that got tossed out on her tin ear watches and waits her turn...

Sooo... whose is this seed going to be?

Looking here...

Looking there...

Incoming!

"Tweeeee!!!!  There's not enough for the both of us!  And this is my side!"

"Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-WWWWWHOOOOOOAAAA!!!!!  Slippery deck rail!"

"Did you take my seed, you junco you?!"
