Photos: Drive to Omaha

Today I went to Omaha to see Loren.

I sure wish they'd clean up this mess alongside the Loup Canal!  Back in the 50s, someone thought it was an excellent idea for controlling erosion, and it would get rid of a bunch of old cars, too, into the bargain.

There was farm equipment on the move everywhere I looked, either traveling via flatbed or on its own steam.

There's a lot of roof repair going on, after April's bad weather.  At least some are fortunate enough to still have roofs to repair!

There are eight directional rotatable log periodic antennas maintained by the 55th Strategic Communications Squadron near Elkhorn, Neb. The directional rotatable log periodic antennas can rotate 360 degrees. A dedicated crew of telecommunications specialists monitor the antennas, which support a wide variety of missions from executive levels of government to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
