Photos: Petunias, Roses, Milkweed... & a Finch with a Roostertail

Petunias and lobelia

Old-fashioned rose. This bush and several others grew from one big root of my mother's rosebush, and hers in turn came from clippings from her mother's rosebush in North Dakota.

Milkweed buds. We let them grow in strategic places in our yard, because the milkweed is the sole host plant for the Monarch butterfly.
