Front walk. The hostas on the right were transplanted last year from their place around a couple of the front-yard trees Loren took down last winter because the pine sawyer beetle had killed them.
The bush this rosebud is on started out as nothing but a short, fat root found in the dirt where Mama's house used to be. It originally started as a cutting from one of my grandmother's rosebushes in North Dakota. I now have six rosebushes that came from that single root, and they are all blooming profusely right now.
Larry putting the straps in place before taking the truck back to town.
New blue spruce trees... and new grass (and weeds, of course) coming up.
The rain that fell the first night after Larry planted the grass washed some of the seed away; he'll have to replant a few places.
The house is a work in progress. The dormers still need to have stain applied to the log siding.
