Quilt Shop Excursion

Today I took an excursion to eight quilt shops, partly to pick up the free row-by-row patterns, partly to get fabric for a few gifts, and partly just for the fun of it.  Of course I had my new camera...

Newman Grove

There's a pretty little quilt shop in Newman Grove, Betz's Little Shoppe, but the owners had closed it just an hour and a half before I got there for a family get-together, and wouldn't be opening again until Monday.

They are trying to sell the quilt shop, as they want to retire.

Throughout Pender, and on barns all around the countryside, there are these boards painted with a quilt block.  So tell me...  why is there no quilt shop in Pender?  Maybe all quilts are made with wood and paint?
