Kayaking the Middle Loup River Near Thedford, Nebraska

Larry and Victoria have just gone kayaking down the Middle Loup.  They will call in a couple of hours, and I will go pick them up several miles downstream.

The Obligatory Red Truck.  Only it's yellow.

The incessant coal trains

Packing the valuables

It's 50°, and now and then a few raindrops fall.

But we're havin' fun!  Yep!

Heading to the Middle Loup River

Always remember to close fences and gates behind youself!

And.....  They're off!!!

Or... are they?!

Aaaaaaaaaaa!  Snag, dead ahead!
"Help!!!  DAaaaaaaaaddddddddyyyy!!!"

If all else fails, just laugh.

Larry steams to the rescue...

And the stuck kayaker, leaning back low under the protruding branch, pops loose.

And now they're really off!

Guy in the rear decides to cut straight across the river...

He tries to tell me it's because he's heading for the deeper channel...

But I know better! -- He's playing with his rudder, and he turned it the wrong direction!

Okay, now he's straight again.

Heading around the bend...

And away they go.
