We decided to walk a ways up the closed road.  It was closed at Rainbow Curve.

Somebody had this stuffed duckling perched on the stone wall, and was taking pictures with Ducky in the foreground.

The miniature snowmen are melting

We had planned to go to Bear Lake, but just look at the traffic congestion.  They were not allowing individual vehicles to go beyond the main parking lot.  Those who wished to go on to the lake were required to ride the bus.

We decided to continue on our merry way.

Me:  "Smile for the camera."
Spike Elk:  "I am smiling for the camera."

Itchy, itchy

Bull Elk #1

Elk #1 has suddenly taken exception to Elk #2 chowing down in his territory.

"En garde!"

Clatter, clatter, bleat, clatter, bleat

"I won!  I won!"

"I'm #1!"

At our motel in Idaho Springs.  All the campgrounds are closed.

Just look at the size of the peaches we got at the organic Farmer's Market in Loveland.  Compare to my camera lens cap.
