Photos: Trip to Omaha

Today we went to Omaha, as Larry needed have a PTO (Power Take-Off) fixed for one of Walkers' boom trucks. The PTO hooks to a hydraulic pump that runs the crane.

We also went to Nebraska Furniture Mart to get a new washer and dryer. We've been without a washer since last week when I went downstairs -- and discovered a waterfall from the ceiling, pouring all over the carpet and a vanity, mirror, and upholstered bench. The washing machine had sprung a leak.

Now, it's quite possible that the thing could have been fixed, but I don't like it anyway. I think it would be very nice to put it out of its misery.

We got humongous, honkin' Maytags with control panels that will soon have me competent to pilot commercial jetliners. We didn't get the *largest* Maytags, because I couldn't reach the bottom of the washing machine, and I'd doubtless have fallen in headfirst trying, and Larry would come home to find his clothes unwashed, and his wife washed and spun and madder'n a wet hen.

My PTOD (Photographic Tip of the Day):
When things look a bit gray and drab, whether from time of year or weather, just take lots of pictures of red trucks!

  1. Glad you didn't have bad weather for your trip to town. You'll be doing lots of laundry when the new pair gets set up. Funny how getting a new appliance makes a task a little more fun. I remember when my parents got a new upright vacuum and my brother and I fought who got to vacuum - how dumb were we since we'd both get ample opportunity to use it!!
