Our room at the Walking Horse Lodge in Lewisburg, Kentucky. Everything is disheveled because we are packing up and nearly ready to go.
Looking out the front window of our room. There's Larry's bike -- he went for a ride on a bike path through a nearby park this morning.
Anybody need a nice Chrysler?
I find the changing of style of the houses from different parts of the country intriguing.
Often, right next to houses that are probably over 100 years old, there suddenly rises a big, elaborate, brand-spankin'-new one.
Many of the bridges are 'memorial bridges', in honor of a late person from the area.
Many of the houses are big and stately in the front -- and in the back, a long addition has been added that seems to go on... and on... and on... and on!
Another house with a lengthy rear addition.
White fences abound, in this neck o' ze woods.
Large horse stables. There's an apartment or home in the middle section. Is it for the trainer? The stable hands? The owner?
So many old barns are falling into decay and deteriorating. Too bad, really.
Lettering on trailer: "Cash for Clunkers". The man is backing this ragtag duo out of the place of business right onto a busy road, slowly and calmly, taking his sweet time, unconcerned about oncoming traffic... Finally he was out far enough that he could put his truck in gear, swing around, and head on down the street. He didn't get crashed into, so all is well. Right?
I asked Larry, "Hey, is that guy related to you??" hee hee
There are Baptist churches everywhere, sometimes nearly side by side. Most are large. Furthermore, they have services three times a week, just like we do.
Smack-dab in the middle of these stately old buildings sits a pink one, big as you please.
This is one huge church.
And the other side is just as big.
Long horse stables
It rained a good part of the day.
Planes on pedestals decorated the entire downtown of Tullahoma.
Shortly after I took a picture of this truck hauling smashed-up boxes, he went skinning too close to a nice red pickup alongside the road and broke its mirror off.
Front-discharge cement truck
The abundance of rain has generated a plethora of waterfalls. Many of them came down through the trees, tumbling over the rocks, and landing right on the road.
Another waterfall
And that's what I have edited so far.
